The world is shaping up
October 19, 2009
The basic foundations for the world are done, and in order to find my way in this – much bigger world – I suddenly had the need for a world map.
So, here you go

Oh, and there is also a new command /teleport x z with which you can teleport around the map.
You can also see skills in the skillbook, train skills with the added /train command and have this config stored on the server.
Only the tree levels are stored by now, and there are no limitations set (like a certain amount of points per level).
We have also done some more brainstorming.
More information will follow soon.
Getting the game up and running
September 28, 2009
These instructions are obsolute.
The binary is no longer compatible with the server.
A Linux 32 binary can be downloaded here: http://80.86.67.101/stuff/Neo/MMORPG
The data required to run the game is found here: http://80.86.67.101/stuff/Neo/MMORPG.tar.gz
Extract the tar.gz and replace the 64-bit binary with the 32-bit one.
You need to have Qt 4.5 libraries installed.
Launch the game, and use the following credentials to log into the game (case sensitive):
Username: testUser
Password: testPass
You will be prompted to create a character since none exists in the database.
Choose your nation, name and class and press Create.
You will need to restart the client in order to use the character.. it’s a known bug…
Now you should be able to authenticate, see your character and log into the world.
You will start below the ground in the water, so just keep walking until you reach a low spot in the ground and gets teleported up.
What is working so far:
- Chat
- Positioning
- Collision detection (partly)
- Spellbook (partly)
- Camera
- Character Creation
That’s about it I guess ![]()
Enjoy.

Various progress
September 12, 2009
The server should now be stable enough to run 24/7 and without any severe memory leaks.
Because of this, we will soon open up a website containing a registration form allowing you to directly register on our server in order to log in in-game and check out our progress.
In order to do this, I have also started working on a real in-game character creation GUI.

We will also create a system automating svn builds and always providing latest Linux and Windows svn builds of the game, so anyone can follow our progress.
There will be further information about this later on.
As you can see in the screenshot above we have a new GUI theme, created by me.

I have also started working slightly on a very basic spellcasting system, your coordinates now gets saved on exit until next login and I fixed quite some crashes/bugs.
